The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State held a Special Meeting to interact with the officers and. men of the command to access the commands performance so far in the last quarter of the 2021. The meeting was presided by the Anambra State Commandant of NSCDC.

According to the State Commandant, Comdt. Everestus Chimezie Obiyo JP,  said that 2021 will be a better year for them and it is a way  forward for year 2022.

The Commandant appreciated the support and guide of *Dr. Abubakar Audi* , mni,which has gone a long way in strengthening the command operational efficiency. 


According to Obiyo, the command has witnessed the positive impact of its grassroot nature in dealing with the populace through the collection of evidence based intelligence gathering, which manifested in the catalogue of achievements recorded in the last quarter of 2021.


Some of the achievements he said, include  the resolution of one hundred cases through the commands alternative dispute resolution mechanism, prosecution of cases at the Court of competent jurisdiction, apprehension of  suspected vandals who engage in illegal transportation and dealings on petroleum products, commissioning  of Special Female Squad,  routine surveillance patrol and quick response to threats over Agro Allied ventures in the state.

Consequent upon the above, the Commandant tasked  Personnel to live above board in the discharge of their constitutional duties in the year 2022 and beyond, saying that  officers and men should adhere strictly to  paramilitary ethic of discipline. He  ordered Area Commanders, and  Divisional Officers  to henceforth book any Civil Defender who failed to report to duty and transmit to his office for necessary action.

Comdt Obiyo expressed his disappointed with the conduct of some officers and men and warned that punitive measures would be meted out to any personnel going contrary to the condition of service of NSCDC. You must refrain from any act of misconduct and treat Ndi Anambra and residents alike with utmost respect and dignity he echoed.

The gathering offered officers and men an opportunity to interface with the State Commandant on issues bordering them to enhance their productivity. The meeting  ended with a call by the State Commandant urging officers and men not to rest on their oars.
