A group, USA Partners, has said that the ongoing construction of Anambra International Cargo/Passengers Airport, located at Umueri, in Anambra East Local Government Area of the State, by governor Willie Obiano led- All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) government, will be officially commissioned by Senator Andy Uba.
The group Youth leader, Obinna Okolo, who made the disclosure during the group stakeholders meeting, held in Awka, on Wednesday, said Uba, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will do that immediately, Obiano hands over power to him, March 17, 2022.
According to him, the Airport project will not be commissioned this year by the governor, because there is still work to be done before it will be designated for commercial and private use. “Obiano is left with five months to exit the office, so the possibility of commissioning the project is not longer there, he explained.

He assured that with the defection of Senator Stella Uduah, Senator Joy Emodi, Hon. Chris Azubogu, representing Nnewi North/South/ Ekwesigo Federal Constituency (PDP), an Obiano allied, Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezim and about 600 supporters from APGA and PDP into APC, it is certain that the party will win the election with large margin.
He appealed to Ndi-Anambra to vote for Uba who, he added, has the experience and capacity to connect the state to the centre.
Earlier in his speech, the State Coordinator, USA Partners, Chief David William Umeh, said the purpose of the meeting was to officially inform the Anambra people that Senator Andy Uba, remains the best and the most politically experience person among other candidates that is qualified to take over governance from Willie Obiano in the November 6 governorship election.
Umeh, while urging members to intensify their campaign for the success of the APC Candidate, noted that Uba, will end the trending unknown gunmen, touting, cultism and other security challenges confronting the state, if elected.
